Photo shoot at home

Maddie had her first photo shooting at home done by a photographer daddy with help of her mommy and mimi. She got milk drunk and had a great 2 hours. She is an angel and I could not resist taking pictures on my phone and other small camera.

Still looks like a new born baby :)

Going home on July 21st!

Welcome home, Madison!

Maddie and I came home 5 nights after Maddie was born. Her first car ride was not successful as she hated being in a car seat!
Wow she screamed so loud that I could not hear Andrew's voice.

A lot of babies fall asleep while sitting in a car seat, but not Maddie...She needs to get used to it to travel to Yamaguchi :)

Anyway, we are all very happy to have you at home with us.
Love you Maddie xxx

sleeping beauty

I stayed at the hospital for 5 nights from the 16th. In Japan, you usually stay at the hospital from 5 to 6 nights after delivering a baby. When you have second one, you stay there from 4 to 5 nights. I enjoyed every meal and learned how to breastfeed a baby and give a baby a bath and so on.

Maddie's face looks just like me when I was born. My mother looked so happy to meet Maddie and Andrew and my mom are in love with her :)

Madison Rei has arrived!

Our baby girl was born at 14:29 on July 16th!!

On the 15th, we went to a mall because it was way too hot to walk outside as exercise. We had lunch and sweets there and walked for a couple of hours and went home.

It was full moon on the 15th and I prayed and told the God that Andrew and I were so ready to welcome Madison. I got loads of energy from the moon.

I had small contractions on and off since a few days before and also had upset stomach before going to bed. At 4:20AM, I suddenly woke up and felt pain in my back and stomach. I went to the bathroom and there was sign of labor! I woke up Andrew and text my mother and told that I was having the contractions :) Pain came back every 10 minutes, but Andrew told me to wait because he wanted to take a shower and asked me if I could get breakfast ready, so I said "Nooooo!" I called the clinic and they told me to come right away. We got to the clinic at 5AM or so, and pain gets worse and worse. My due date was July 8th and it was already 9 days late, so Andrew and I were so excited and I was even enjoying this pain UNTIL 11AM. My mother came at 9AM and sat there beside me and my husband Andrew pushed my lower back and supported me for a whole time. I could not do it without his help and love. He walked in the hall with me and we cried together because I was in bad pain and getting close to deliver Maddie.

There were 3 pregnant women on that morning and nurses thought I would be the last one because I only dilated 3cm when I got to the clinic, but I ended up having a baby first!

It was an amazing experience and I could do this because I was with Andrew. I did not scream or shout at him and he constantly helped me and even took pictures and short videos during labor while supporting me. What a wonderful and thoughtful husband I have!

There are a lot more to tell about my labor, but I will stop for now!

We are just so happy to have Madison Rei in our family. Thank you God for giving us such a beautiful girl.

I will never forget about this special day :)

Before we meet our baby daughter

Yesterday we went to a beautiful park to shoot some pictures!
Andy was so tired from working and sweating all day at work, but he was willing to go to the park with me and take some pictures :-)

We did not find our favourite photographers here in Fukuoka( I am sure that there are many talented photographers but just have not found the one we like) , so we decided to do it on our own. Why not? We have a great camera and a tripod!

We ended up being outside for 2 and a half hours and took over 100 pictures!

Clothes for our bebe

Our bebe seems to like being in my tummy and she is not ready to come out yet......
We are anxious to meet her!!!

Nonna sent us something special for her. Clothes and a bib that Andrew used when he was a bebe. They are adorable and we are so sure that they will look really cute on her. Nonna changed ribbon from blue to pink for her. Just cannot wait to put them on her :)

THANK YOU VERY MUCH, Nonna! Love you very much.

Special gift from Andrew's mom ;)

Look at this beautiful handmade quilt!!!!

Andrew's mother made it for our daughter :) We love it very much and cannot wait to use it. I wish I could make something like this for my own daughter......Unfortunately I am not patient enough to make it and I do not have an equipment. We are so lucky to have a mother like her who cares about our baby :)

Thank you. Nonna! We will see you in December :)
We love you very much xx

Andrew's blanket

Tonight we received a big package from Andrew's mom!
She put something that Andrew loves in it and he immediately found it :-) If you know him very well, you know what it is! Jelly Belly Jelly Beans! He enjoyed some tonight.

Well, Andrew's mom sent us lovely things including things that we ordered.

1. A blanket that is made in Hawaii and Andrew used it when he was a baby. It was a gift from uncle Ed and aunt Tina! It is so cute and means a lot to have this for our daughter :) Uncle Ed and aunt Tina sent it for him when they lived in Hawaii. Thank you very much.

We are excited to use this blanket :)

Baby progress

When is our baby going to be born?

Daddy Andrew is so excited and so are my family and friends. I received some messages from my friends. They are anxious to hear the news from me. I wanted her to be born on July 7th which is the same birthday as our doggy Nana and July 7th is star festival in Japan, plus it is easy to remember :-) I guess she is very comfortable being in my tummy ;-)

Her movement is getting less compared to last week. Poor bebe that there is not much space to move around. Daddy and mommy are so ready to meet you, wee girl!

black and white one was taken last week and color one was taken on July 7th!

Nana's birthday~July 7th~

It is our doggy Nana's 3rd Birthday!
It has been loads of fun to live with her and take care of her. She sometimes does something bad such as peeing on a wrong place, but mostly makes us laugh and happy ;)
Happy Birthday, Nana!!!

Wedding Ceremony Anniversary, June 27th

It has been 2 years since Andrew and I had our wedding reception. Andrew's parents, and our friends from all over the world came to celebrate our special day. My professor Bobby gave us a wonderful speech about marriage life. We are so thankful to everyone who came to our wedding.

For the past 2 years, a lot of things have changed and happened. We moved twice, some friends had babies, Andrew's parents came to visit us and now we are about to have our first child!!! How exciting!

Anyway, yesterday was our 2 year wedding ceremony anniversary, and Andrew gave me and our wee one some cute handmade bags! How thoughtful he is. He had to ask one of his co-workers to make them. We can put some baby clothes, diapers, and other small items in, whenever we go out! They are so cute :) Thank you very much, my dearest husband Andrew! I feel really bad that I did not prepare anything on father's day or on this wedding anniversary. I only made homemade fresh hamburgers and some fried potatoes on father's day. We usually celebrate our wedding anniversary on Sep 10th, the day that we officially got married in Japan. This year, our baby will celebrate our wedding anniversary :) Oh, not only this year but for many years!

Saturday, 26th of February~SURPRISE!~

On Feb 26th, Andrew threw me 30th surprise party at a nice restaurant!
He planned it with one of our good friends and kept it secret :-) I had no idea that he was planning it as he usually cannot keep things secret...LOL

When we arrived at a restaurant, I saw someone(actually it was my friend) standing with a camera, but I still did not understand what she was doing as inside of the restaurant was pretty dark. As we went in, there were about 15 people waiting for me!!!!!

Oh I was very surprised to see everybody and even after they said "SURPRISE!!!" I still did not get it for a little while why they were there...

I thank Andrew very much for planning my birthday party and making it so special and memorable and thank my friends for being there to celebrate my 30th birthday. My friend had another surprise and prepared a cake for Andrew whose birthday was about 2 and 1/2 weeks after me. How nice she is and we are blessed to have such great friends.

I will never forget this special day! Thank you, Andrew :)

A handmade baby blanket from Mimi ;)

Andrew's parents came to visit us for 2 weeks in March.
We had such a wonderful time together. We were able to take them to a place we hold dear, and colored our memory with more great stories! It was too bad that they did not get to see full bloomed sakura. Anyway, Mimi brought her kit to make our baby blanket with her. She started making it 2 months before she came here and finished making it a few days before they left Japan. Guess how many meters of cotton thread she used? More than 2000 meters!!!!! Our wee baby must be excited to use the blanket. Thank you so much, Mimi :)

Bright Baby updates from Winter 2010

Andrew and I found out that we were having a baby at the end of October, 2010. I took a pregnancy test and came out as positive but could not believe that this was happening to me! I went out to a Korean style BBQ with my co-workers on November 3rd and threw up everything I had on that night. Then I realized that I was missing something, so took a pregnancy test again and it came POSITIVE! This time we were pretty sure that I was pregnant. We were both very happy and excited about our first child :)

This ultra sound was taken in the States when we visited our family in Kentucky. A wee baby Bright looks like an angel growing inside of me ;)

We had a nice doctor's check-up and Andrew's family was so happy to hear the news. My morning sickness was not too bad. I had heart burn quite often and threw up 3 times. I am 27 weeks pregnant and a bit late to update my blog on our baby Bright....please look forward to seeing more pictures!

PACKAGE arrives!!!

A great package from one of our good friends arrived today!
Joe and Sherona who live in the US sent us wonderful baby gifts : ) Oh it made our day!
They sent us so many cute stuff that we cannot wait to put on our baby girl, especially a green dress that Andrew is holding! :-) Colours of clothes are very vivid and cute that we rarely see in Japanese baby clothes. Thank you sooooo much, Joe and Sherona!!!

We are so blessed to have such great friends who care about us and our baby girl. Sherona is having a baby boy in a few weeks. We hope everything goes well with her delivery! Reina is going to be a big sister soon ;) How exciting it is!

Many thanks to Joe and Sherona :)

beautiful gift to school

My mother-in-law Mama Jane gave beautiful flower to GenkiJACS before she left Japan.
It makes me smile and happy every time I see it and it reminds me of my parents-in-law.
Thank you very much. Everyone loves it!!!!

2011

Wow, since I started this blog, it has been 2 years! And guess what? I have not uploaded anything since New Year 2009 and I am very embarrassed about it. Many interesting things have been happening here in our life in Japan, so I will start writing a blog from now on! I will promise to all of my family and friends.

More coming real soon!
